Special Surgery

Thomas hated The Clinic. Everyone hated The Clinic. It was easily the most hated place on The Island. It was practically legendary in how much it was loathed. There were stories of bad children being taken to The Clinic for "special surgery" that mothers would tell their kids. Surgery which would make kids like tankveggies. Surgery which make it so that they could only speak when spoken to. Surgery which would lop off an ear - just to make them look funny before school. Even in their twenties, people knew that friends might go to The Clinic and simply not return. This wasn't myth and everyone had a missing friend to show for it. No place housed more death than The Clinic.
