Day 1: NaNo sluggish, me not so much

nanowrimo.org appears to be taking a beating. I suppose that's a good thing in the sense that perhaps it means there's a lot of interest in it this year. Course, it's bad because we're about to head out, The Girl is on the phone and I'm was hoping to update some profile stuff.

I'm at 2,557 now - a very decent start. My philosophy is that the 1,700 daily mark (1,667 precisly, IIRC) is a bit of a tease. You gotta figure that you'll hit a dry spell and probably skip out on at least a day a week - and in my case the weekend is probably going to be hard to squeeze time out. Plus, the end of the month is holiday season. So I was actually hoping for a 3,000 figure - but there was real work at work to do.
