Several Icons

Thomas had entered through Town Square - which often served as a kind of general meeting area for regulars and often an informational aid for people who weren't always getting their dream on. Several icons, figures which were permanent characters of The Lucid, would often hang around to help out people who had questions or wanted suggestions for what to within the dreamstate. Icons were not people - they didn't really have a normal personality per se. They were more like animated flipbooks with legs. To date, no shaper had been able to properly recreate an actual person within The Lucid ... much less affix them permanently. Largely because of this, icons were not necessarily human-shaped. In fact, it was generally considered more interesting and even less creepy to not make them humans. With a human face always came the expectation of polite conversation that icons simply could not provide.

It had been a panda that had recommended the new beachfront that Thomas was now exploring. While the forests and mazes were often the most popular location - Thomas never much cared for him. This was a fact he had always hidden from Lilah - lied about it in fact on numerous times in the past. Lilah's work had sometimes been considered somewhat "gothic" by some - a tone Thomas never fully appreciated.
