Failed Attempt At Art

The West Lake Ferry was one of the few boats in operation on the Island. Few people saw the need to cross over the glassy clear waters any farther than they could swim. A few Islanders had requisitioned the occasionally outboat which they used to wander around the lakes in search of lost or hidden artifacts - but they rarely found anything of note or merit. The Ferry itself was generally only commissioned to take people to view The Man In The Sea. The Man was a large dark figure visible just towards the western edge of The Dome. He was enormous in size. If it was at some point a walking humanoid structure, it would have dwarfed the top of The Dome - although it is difficult to know how deep the water was whenever it might have tread through. Most Islanders assumed it had been some failed attempt at art that collapsed under its own weight.

Every year or so - the Committee On Technology or the Committee On History would decide upon a petition to try an exhume The Man. Even during the years that such a petition would garner popular support, it never went far past the planning stage. A group of devoted Yetis spent several months uncovering it's hand - the topmost portion of the figure which was directed as if to reach out from the ice - but even most of that had been now reclaimed by The Snow.
